We are often so immersed in the day-to-day activities that make up our work lives that we forget to give back. At True Residential, we make an effort to always keep this ideal at the forefront of our minds. This year we decided to participate in a great cause, the 47th Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York City. The internationally-recognized show house is a benefit for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and draws interior designers, media, and design aficionados from across the country.

Each year, a group of incredible interior designers transforms an estate into what amounts to an unparalleled exhibition of design—this year is no exception. There is such an expectation of excellence put forth by the show—heightened each year by the designers that participate—that we felt it was a wonderful way to match the standards we hold for ourselves. The fact that the month-long event helps raise critical funds for much-needed enrichment programs for New York City youth truly solidified our decision. We donated our Undercounter Wine Cabinet to New York-based designed Jennifer Cohler Mason in the design of her ultra-luxurious yet livable sitting room.

Mason’s underlying theme, which was to create a space for  a family that loves to entertain at home, incorporates a beautiful mix of both feminine and masculine touches throughout. In the living space, the designer set the tone with a vibrantly hued channeled back sofa and show-stopping onyx light fixture from Todd Merrill, joined by a pair of vintage 1950s lounge chairs from Guy de Regal, and a multilevel cocktail table from Studio van den Akker. A textured ceiling treatment from Holland & Sherry and a row of jewel-toned pillows on the elongated window seat add wonderful pops of color.

Behind the sofa, Mason custom-paneled our Dual Zone Wine Undercounter Wine Cabinet, seamlessly integrating it into her custom-made cabinet with a striking marble top. Perfect for entertaining, the cabinet not only holds 45 bottles and comes with our True Precision Control with steel touch technology and readout for digital accuracy, but it also features our signature TruLumina LED lighting. While 14 different color options are available with the push of a button, Mason aptly chose a purple shade that not only adds a wonderful ambiance, but ties together the lavender hues peeking out throughout the room. It’s a beautiful space for a beautiful cause. We hope you stop by if you so happen to be in New York.
