We are thrilled to report that KBIS 2020—held this year from January 21–23 in Las Vegas—was a huge success.
The premier trade event for the kitchen and bath industry, over 31,000 attendees spanning the gamut from construction, architecture, design, building, and fabricating fields attended. And with over 600 exhibitors displaying their new designs, it was a busy three days. But best of all? We finally unveiled our brilliant new Saffron finish to rave reviews.
Our Saffron hue not only recalls the colors of France’s Provence region and its Italian counterpart, Tuscany, but it exudes and boosts positive energy. The new finish formed a showstopping focal point in our Central Hall booth, drawing in designers, builders, press, and fellow exhibitors alike, all ready to take a peek or a snap for the ‘gram. Considering we outfitted two of our new 36” units in the vivid hue, it was also the perfect way to get show visitors to see two of our new introductions at once.
One of our favorite moments? ID LIVE, now a show staple, took place on the second day of the show. The much-anticipated live discussion between Interior Design magazine’s Editor in Chief Cindy Allen and leading interior designers, offered an up-to-the-minute update on show trends and more—and our Saffron hue came up twice! In an interview with Cindy, award-winning designer Michelle Miazga–Hall, founder and principal of Vancouver, British Columbia-based Port + Quarter, gives us a shout-out on our powder-coated refrigeration units in response to Cindy asking how she brings color into her work on multi-residential buildings. The answer? So many multi-residential buildings have wonderful amenity spaces—from large shared kitchens to co-working spaces and even lobbies and corridors—and these areas are perfect to add in a beautiful pop of color. We concur!
To solidify the point, our brand ambassador, interior designer Vanessa Deleon followed on the heels of Miazga-Hall’s interview. This led to Cindy herself holding up a shot of one of our 30” Columns in Saffron, while exclaiming “who wouldn’t want this one?” Again, we couldn’t agree more! As the interview progressed, Vanessa’s striking home kitchen was also shown, with the cabinetry outfitted in a dramatic matte black and copper to match her True Residential refrigerator.
Design these days is proving more and more to be about customization. But the real point that was reiterated throughout the show’s run? Designers want to be fearless with color, and Saffron is definitely a fearless choice. From interjecting color into unexpected places to a movement away from the white kitchen, color is all the rage. Whether a home is all about color or taking a neutral palette with color infused throughout—bold is back in a big way. With our versatile yet vibrant new Saffron hue, we are now offering designers and homeowners a choice of 54 unique color combinations available in both our full-size and indoor/outdoor undercounter units. Be fearless.
