Who can resist the allure of tile? An incredibly versatile design element, tile can grace almost any surface, transforming spaces in a myriad of ways. Depending on one’s aesthetic vision, tiles can infuse a space with a bold punch of drama or evoke an atmosphere of quiet luxury—options abound. To hone in on some of our favorites, we explored some of the latest designs showcased at Cersaie, Italy’s leading tile and ceramic trade fair. Held annually in Bologna, the globally-recognized event features a remarkable array of innovative and striking designs. Below, discover some of our favorite new tiles introduced by the esteemed Ceramics of Italy brands we admire—paired elegantly with a complementing True unit, of course. What’s not to love?
The “Cattedrale” collection by Annalisa Dominoni and Benedetto Quaquaro of A+ B Studio for Ceramica Vietrese presents a gorgeous reinterpretation of stained glass cathedral windows. Each piece features handcrafted brushstrokes that create the illusion of light radiating from within. Paired with the 48” True unit in Bluestone—the arrangement achieves a harmonious balance, adding a strong, stabilizing presence that beautifully complements the tiles.
AcquarioDue’s dynamic Calathea tiles celebrate the artistry of leaves in exquisite relief. The skillfully stylized tone-on-tone foliage design, charmingly interspersed with shimmering gold tiles, creates a stunning visual impact. Complementing the aesthetic is True’s Antique White 42” unit, which also embraces the allure of mixed metals, fitting seamlessly into the ensemble.
Faetano’s Manufatti Collection of “glossy” Majolica tiles boasts a handcrafted charm, ensuring each tile is uniquely distinct. The monochromatic porcelain stoneware includes the 3D Mi Cerchi, highlighted by a rich creamy glaze that invites a multitude of creative combinations. Also featured is Brick, a matte, tactile tile presented in a striking Terra. When paired with True’s 36” Bottom Freezer, the overall effect is truly captivating.
