It’s always cocktail o’clock when a sophisticated bar beckons—especially if it’s in your own residence. From basement speakeasies to cleverly hidden nooks and/or lavishly appointed full floor bars, entertaining at home has never been so luxurious. The fully equipped home bars below each exude an alluring yet intimate atmosphere designed to draw one in.

No one would ever guess this gorgeous, ambient bar is located on a private horse farm in Saratoga Springs, NY. Reminiscent of an upscale Irish Pub in Dublin or a cozy hidden gem in NYC’s Stone Street Historic District, designer Eva Lindsell Andersen worked with Teakwood Builders to create a truly beautiful space for the clients’ to entertain both colleagues and friends. The True Beverage Column (located on the back left wall), 24” Freezer Drawers, and 15” Clear Ice Machine round out the bar’s amenities while perfectly fitting into the aesthetic.

In this striking Ontario home, designer Erika Friesen created a blingy, Vegas-like space to rival its owners’ glamorous style. A chic black-and-white floor sets the stage for a black, white, gold, and silver palette. Metallic elements add a bit of shine while floor-to-ceiling wine racks sit right next to a True Wine Cabinet (which holds an additional 45 bottles), a 24” Undercounter Refrigerator, and a 24” Beverage Dispenser, to round out the richly layered home bar.

Very few basement bars exhibit such thoughtful planning. When Christine Jahan designed this particular subterranean hangout, she made the previously awkward space work for her clients. Each area was meticulously outfitted to maximize seating areas, entertaining moments, and create spots perfect from which to enjoy private moments. The bar’s rich palette creates a sense of warmth and conviviality that makes people want to stay for hours, while a True Wine Column offers guests endless options.
