Kitchen trends may come and go, but their allure remains ever strong. While major renovations can feel daunting, many of today’s popular looks are surprisingly simple to implement and can be easily updated—without requiring permanent changes. Adding a statement wall with wallpaper, for instance, opens up a world of possibilities when it comes to flexibility (and style). Take peel-and-stick options, for example—they’re not only simple to apply but also effortless to remove, offering the perfect balance of style and convenience. See below for some of our favorite design shifts in the kitchen.
Rounded Corners & Edges
Design: Yoko Chow.
Though it may not be the easiest trend to implement on a whim, the growing popularity of rounded and fluted edges—found in materials ranging from wood to marble—marks a shift toward softer, more tranquil spaces. This aesthetic, which appeals to a broad range of design sensibilities, also offers a practical benefit: it’s a thoughtful choice for households with toddlers, helping to reduce sharp corners and enhance safety. Color in the Kitchen
Design: Shazalynn Cavin-Winfrey, SCW Interiors.
While the timeless charm of a white kitchen is unlikely to ever go out of style, it’s clear that color is making a strong comeback in the kitchen. In recent years, we’ve seen a surge of sage greens, soft pastels, and neutral-adjacent tones take center stage. However, for 2025, we’re predicting a bold shift toward vibrant jewel tones and darker neutrals—think deep plums, army greens, rich maroons, sunburnt yellows, and vivid emeralds—bringing a new level of warmth and drama to kitchen design.
Wallpaper in the kitchen has shed much of the former hesitation that came along with it, thanks to the introduction of easy-to-install, easy-to-remove varieties that make it a more approachable option for homeowners. At KBIS 2024, the units in True’s booth were elegantly complemented by bold, patterned, and textured wallcoverings from Arte. One standout combination featured True’s newly launched Champagne finish—a soft gold with metallic accents and subtle pink undertones—paired with a shimmering gold wallcovering that added just the right amount of luster. The pairing was nothing short of stunning. Nearby, units in True’s tranquil Bluestone finish and copper hardware, were beautifully accented by a slightly darker, textured blue wallpaper, with delicate hints of gold running through it—creating a striking visual effect that was both sophisticated and captivating.
