Will an all-white kitchen ever go out of style? Not if they’re designed by Kimberly Boomer of Fit +Finish Design. Boomer’s kitchen design for a family in York, Pennsylvania showcases exactly why the color palette is so beloved.

While the designer was initially brought in to renovate the kitchen in a manner that complemented the aesthetic of an adjacent mudroom she had recently redone, the kitchen took on a life of its own. Chock-full of personality and appliances designed for entertaining, the newly revamped heart of the home now features two 30” True Residential units—one refrigerator and one freezer seamlessly unified by brand-exclusive Joining Kits—along with one Clear Ice Machine, and one full-sized Glass Door Beverage Column, all in the True Antique White colorway with brass hardware. “The clients used some True products in their outdoor living space, so they wanted to use them in the interior space as well. I was not that familiar with the brand but the units elevated the design—the color capabilities, hardware options, and hinges really impressed me and added such a cool level of detail. They form quite a statement. I’ve since had more clients interested in having multiple columns,” exclaims Boomer! “I also think the design demonstrates how well True appliances can integrate with cabinetry—which is very helpful for a designer who wants a unified look but does not want to invest in panels.”

While the kitchen is basically one cohesive color story—the designer easily matched the cabinet colors to the True columns’ Antique White—there are a lot of design features and details to draw one’s eye. “People often don’t realize that white doesn’t necessarily equal stark and generic” explains the designer. “You can create a very warm kitchen with a lot of personality with varying shades of white.” In fact, since white reflects light, it can create the illusion of more space. Likewise, if natural light is lacking, integrating white into the design can make the room feel more bright and open. Quartz stone countertops and a quartz backsplash from Emerstone add some material appeal. Regardless of how one feels about white kitchens, Boomer is proof positive that an all-white kitchen can be distinctive and unique.
