|1 pie crust or dough for a pie crust
||1 teaspoon vanilla extract
||¼ cup of whiskey (optional)
|¾ cup of brown sugar
||2 oz. melted butter
|½ cup of maple syrup
||2 cups of pecan halves
|½ teaspoon salt
Using a 10" tart pan with a removable bottom, line the pan with the crust or dough rolled to ⅛" thickness. Chill for 30 minutes.
Prick the bottom of the pan with a fork and bake at 375º for 8 minutes.
Mix the rest of the ingredients together. Using a slotted spoon, place all the pecan halves in the pastry shell. Spread the pecan halves evenly and add just enough liquid to lightly cover the pecans. Bake at 350º for 20 minutes or until the filling is set.
